[PROMPT] Learning Design II

The eight attributes of open pedagogy (Hegarty, 2015) | Download Scientific Diagram

I chose to write about open pedagogies learning for my second blog post. Open pedagogy learning by incorporating openly available resources with information and teaching the material by co-creating a lesson, or assessment or even a learning resource similar to what we are going to do in our EDCI 335 course. In simpler terms, it is essentially learning by teaching and having students engage in their course content by actively participating in it. By having students create learning activities they must first understand the content they are trying to teach which in a sense forces the student to learn the content. Open Pedagogy learning style for our blueprint which focuses on “The causes of Inflation” could be beneficial because we can also create assessments and learning activities to teach our course objectives. Creating assessments like multiple choice quiz, true and false, fill-in-the-blanks could all help with terminology, analyzing the real-world situation questions, and having a stronger foundation for economic content. I believe it is easy to be able to learn a learning outcome easier by creating a learning activity (in this case how open pedagogy works). It helps incorporate learning by teaching because in a sense a teacher must know their content if they wanted to be able to teach it.
