How will your interactive learning resource specifically ensure that the needs of all learners can be met?

With a vast majority of learners out there, it will always exists in some form some barriers to student success. Some of which are visual impairments (legally blind), hearing impairments (hearing aid), reading impairments (dyslexia), and more. With this barriers in mind, it is every teacher’s goal to make sure they reduce as much barrier there exists for learners to properly absorb the information from lectures and classes. In our learning resource we use videos with closed captioning for those with visual impairments, hearing impairments, and reading disabilities. The built-in function for videos to be replayed at slower speeds also helps those where English isn’t their native language. Of course it is impossible to eliminate all barriers to learning but it is important to be aware of it in order to put it into consideration.

How can you adjust your planned learning activities to meet the needs of your learners if an unexpected event occurs? (for example, a pandemic arises and many of your employees must now work from home – how will you ensure that they can still do their jobs? What training will they need, and how will you deliver it, knowing they must remain at home?)

If for example a pandemic arises, the resource is to be an online self-paced course with no strict deadlines until the class reaches its class end date. With many apps and platforms out there to connect all students and learners together via video chat like Zoom it is easier than ever to stay connected all while staying at home. However, the problem arises now if the student has a internet connection at home, or if he has a reliable computer which could potentially come up as barriers to learning. However, being a self-paced course the learners are able to use public library computers to access their course and lecture materials with not strict schedule. They have the freedom of their own time to work when they have to and catch up on lectures when they are free.
